Situated on the third floor of a Victorian property in Halifax, West Yorkshire this wet room was starting to deteriorate and in need of an update.
A big issue was the water damage being caused, particularly to the door and the frame.
The position of the beams and the restricted head height dictated the layout so this remained unchanged (other than altering the position of the toilet to balance the room), however by completely stripping out the ceiling cladding and the flooring back to the joists, we were able to gain more height.
We boarded, skimmed and painted the ceiling with a waterproof paint which gives a much more spacious feel than the cladding.
We upgraded the extractor fan to alleviate the problem with steam and condensation, we also installed bathroom rated spotlights which are safe and suitable for the space.
The custom made frosted glass door will withstand the exposure to water from the shower and steam for years to come, along with our expertise in waterproofing this wet room is built to last.
